The Saturday Group

If you are looking for a morning of fun with the kids and an opportunity to connect with other families, welcome to the Saturday Playgroup. For many families, the Saturday playgroup is their first introduction to the services at Pathways ECI.

Now in it's eight year, the playgroup has consistently been  our most popular program. Services on a Saturday provide a great avenue for involving the whole family, meeting with other families and having fun in a relaxed environment on the weekend. It is also an important opportunity to involve more fathers and working families with Pathways.

Our staff are available to discuss any concerns you have about your child's development and can provide information and ideas that you may not have already tried.

You can drop into the group any time and we are open on every Saturday except Public Holiday weekends, 10:30-12:30. Some families are regulars and come every week while others come when they have the time. It's usually a busy group with a casual feel, as the kids play and parents chat.

There is no set routine so the kids are able to play indoors at quiet activities or enjoy more active play with our sensory equipment. Outdoors, the sand pit, trampoline and bikes are always popular. Fifteen minutes before the end of the playgroup, we play the tambourines and sing the pack away song. This gives the children time to get ready for the group to finish and for them to understand that it will soon be time to go home (there are usually some tears from kids who dont want to the playgroup to end!). It is also an important time for families to model packing away and provides an opportunity for the kids to help with this important routine.

School aged brothers and sisters are welcomed to the group by our Sibs coordinator, Jessica Kean.
