Preparation for School
- When: Thursday and Friday
- Time: 1.00 pm – 2.00 pm
For children moving on to school there are a lot of new skills they need to learn. Some of these include:
- following instructions
- listening to the teacher
- putting your hand up to answer a question
- recognizing and writing your name
- drawing and writing skills
- communicating with your peers
This program focuses on teaching children these skills through structured activities in a small group environment. It is run by a Speech and Occupational Therapist who jointly develop activities to suit the needs of the children on a weekly basis. There is a strong emphasis on communication skills, both with the adults and peers.
